Jarrod Allen
Jarrod Allen joined PDS in July 2006 and has been a cornerstone of our team ever since. Growing up in Oakland, Jarrod was born and raised in the Bay Area and attended school in Livermore. He began his journey with PDS right out of high school, initially seeking a part-time job. What started as a single day a week quickly grew into a full-time passion, driven by the culture of unconditional love and the joy of making a difference in others’ lives.
As Program Coordinator, Jarrod enjoys creating schedules, a challenging yet rewarding task that forms the backbone of our operations. He approaches the work like solving a puzzle, finding solutions that ensure everything comes together seamlessly. He takes the time to think about what PDS can achieve, while always keeping the needs, desires, and rights of the clients foremost. It’s this dedication to problem-solving and collaboration that helps PDS succeed every day. He brings the same level of care to the job of managing the staff, doing everything he can to give them what they need to succeed at the job. He always looks for ways to improve the lives of those around him, regardless of who they are.
Outside of work, Jarrod is a devoted father who enjoys playing and coaching sports, including basketball, soccer, running, swimming, and football. Much of his time is spent supporting his daughter’s interests and activities, which bring him endless joy.

When asked what he wished everyone knew about adults with disabilities, Jarrod responded: “How much they are childlike in their innocence and their love. It doesn’t seem like they see the bad side of you, it seems that they only see this really good side of you, that’s very refreshing. Even when they’re in bad situations and labeled and bad people, they don’t see you that way. Even when I’m frustrated or angry, they don’t see that, they see somebody who’s a friend.”
